You can pay for your driving lessons in a couple of different ways. Ideally, our instructors take payment upfront before your lesson, at least 24 hours ahead, or as agreed on the day of your first lesson. You will have an initial conversation with your allocated driving tutor, who will discuss their preferred payment method with you. Most of the time you will be paying via bank transfer. Cash is accepted. No cheques. To pay the company directly, call 0800 488 0817 or 07926 943702.
You will need to bring your provisional driving licence. Your driving instructor must see it before you drive on public roads. You will also need it for both your theory and practical driving tests, so keep it somewhere safe. You should also be able to read a number plate at 20 metres, with glasses or contact lenses if you wear them.
Yes. Many of our learners come to us specifically because anxiety has been a barrier. Our driving instructors are experienced at working patiently with nervous learners, and we also offer dedicated Driver Confidence Training for learners and qualified drivers whose anxiety needs more targeted, structured support.

Yes. SOS Driver Training offers personalised instruction for learners with a wide range of needs, including neurodiverse learners, those with dyslexia, and disabled learners. Every learner is different. The DVSA’s own figures suggest the average learner needs around 45 hours of professional tuition alongside approximately 22 hours of private practice. Your driving tutor will track your progress honestly throughout and let you know when they genuinely believe you are ready to book your test.
Yes. Every driving instructor at SOS Driver Training holds full ADI status and is currently registered on the DVSA’s Approved Driving Instructor register. All instructors are also DBS checked.
